State Court

The State Court of Worth County was created in 1914 by the Georgia General Assembly. Since that date, the Court and the types of cases it handles have gone through significant changes.  The State Court has jurisdiction over misdemeanors, traffic cases, and civil actions not exclusively reserved for the Superior Court (e.g., felony criminal cases, divorce and child custody cases or temporary restraining orders), Probate Court (e.g., the probate of wills or appointment of guardians) or Juvenile Court (e.g., traffic cases where Defendants are 16 years of age or younger).
