Can I bring my child/children with me?

The courthouse does not have child care facilities and children are not allowed in the courtrooms, so jurors need to make arrangements for childcare prior to the morning of juror service. 

Will I be paid for being a juror?

Yes. You will receive a check for $30.00 for the first day and each day afterwards, if you are selected to be a juror for a trial.

Why is jury service important? 

The United States Constitution and the Georgia Constitution guarantee all people, regardless of race, religion, sex, national origin, or economic status, the right to a trial by a jury.

What is my duty as a juror?

As a juror, you must remain fair and impartial. 

Who can be excused from jury service?

 For State Court Jury Service:  You may inquire as to an excusal or deferral by contacting the Judge of State Court's office @ 229-776-8205.  Mail documentation in reference to excusal or deferral to Judge of State Court,  201 N. Main Street, Room 13, Sylvester, Georgia 31791.

Where do I report for jury service? 

Please report no later than ???? a.m. on the day of your jury service to the Main Courtroom, located in the Worth County Courthouse on the 2nd floor.
