Zoning Public Hearing

NOTICE

The Worth County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing/called meeting at the Building & Zoning Department at 204 E. Franklin Street Suite 16 Sylvester, Ga. 31791 at 6:00 pm on August 6, 2026. 

  • Recommendation on the request through application for a Setback Variance for a home in a Residential (R1) zoned area. The property is 12.96 acres on parcel 00720006, 1176 Doe Hill Road Poulan, Ga., Property owner Hunter Taylor.

  • Recommendation on the request through application for a Rezoning from Residential (R2) to Agricultural-Limited Use (AG-LU) for future homesite and AG business. The property is 2.5 acres on parcel OF050033, 301 Whitehall Street, Oakfield, Ga.; Property owner Steve Stacy % Dacia Harris.

At the public hearing, the Planning Commission will make a recommendation to be submitted to the Chairman and County Commissioners.

The Chairman and Commissioners will hold a public hearing, followed by a regular meeting on the third (3rd) floor of the Courthouse located at 201 N Main St. Sylvester, Ga. 31791 in the Commission Board Room at 7:00 pm on August 20, 2026.  At that time, the Commissioners will hear public comments and consider the recommendation of the Planning Commission and make their decision on the zoning application.
