DID YOU KNOW???

1. Pollworkers get PAID for working the Elections!!!

2. Georgia is recognized as a national leader in elections. It was the first state in the country to implement the trifecta of automatic voter registration, at least 17 days of early voting (which has been called the “gold standard”), and no-excuse absentee voting. Georgia continues to set records for voter turnout and election participation, seeing the largest increase in average turnout of any other state in the 2018 midterm election and record turnout in 2020, and 2022. 2022 achieved the largest single day of in-person early voting turnout in Georgia midterm history utilizing Georgia’s secure, paper ballot voting system. Most recently, Georgia ranked #1 for Election Integrity by the Heritage Foundation, a top ranking for Voter Accessibility by the Center for Election Innovation & Research and tied for number one in Election Administration by the Bipartisan Policy Center.

3. Pollworkers must take an oath before each election swearing that they will do their duty to the best of their ability to prevent any fraud, abuse, or deceit in the election and that they will allow all voters who are in good standing to vote.

4. All testing of equipment is open to public.  A test of each and every piece of equipment used in the election is tested before use by voters.  This includes the pollpad, bmds, and the scanners.

Why Vote in 2025? (Borrowed from Vote Early Day)
You might be asking yourself, “What’s the point of voting in 2025?”

The presidential election is over, and the midterm elections will not occur until 2026. This is one of those “off years” you hear about, right?

WRONG

In our American democracy, there are NO OFF YEARS. Every year brings new opportunities for us to share our voices and make decisions about the future we want to create. Here are the top 6 reasons to tune in, get involved, and cast your ballot in 2025:

#1 - Critical State and Local Elections

While presidential elections capture the national attention, local and state elections decide who manages your roads, schools, housing, and public safety.

Local elections have a direct impact on our communities—from school policies to infrastructure improvements and essential services—and voters must make their voices heard on these issues.

#2 - Local Decisions Affect Your Day-to-Day Life A Lot

Some of the most significant policy changes in history originated at the local level before evolving into national movements. Issues such as education reform, environmental initiatives, and public health policies often originate in cities and states before evolving into larger-scale actions. By participating in local elections, you help set the stage for the changes you want to see.

#3 - Build Your Identity as a Voter

When you vote in every election, you build your identity as a dedicated and determined voter - someone who never misses a chance to share their voice or hand off their vote to others.

When you vote every time, you know you are doing your part to shape the future you want to see in your city, county, state, and nation.

#4 - You Could Be the Deciding Vote

There are local elections across the country that have been decided by a handful of votes--your vote could be a deciding factor in who represents you and your community

#5 - Familiarize yourself with Changing Election Laws

Since the last presidential election, state legislatures across the country have been hard at work updating election laws.

Voting in state and local elections in 2025 means you’ll be prepared to tackle any changes to voter ID laws, polling hours, or eligibility requirements.
