Early computation & Canvassing: pursuant to OCGA 21-2-386 (a)(e) this is to notify the citizens of Worth County that the Worth County Board of Elections will begin the early opening and canvassing of absentee ballots cast for the March 12, 2024 Presidential Preference Primary Election which shall begin at 5:00 pm on March 12, 2024 at the Worth County Courthouse, located at 201 N. Main St Sylvester Georgia 31791.  The results of said canvassing shall not be run until 7 pm.

Certification:  Notice is hereby given that computation, canvassing and certification of the returns of votes cast in the March 12,2024 Presidential Preference Primary Election will take place in the Worth County Election’s office starting on March 13, 2024 at 9am.

Pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 21-2-379.6 (c) notice is hereby given that the logic and accuracy testing on the voting equipment to be used in the March 12,2024 Presidential Preference Primary (PPP)  will begin at 8 am on Tuesday January 30 and will continue from day to day until completed. The testing will be at the Worth County Courthouse, 201 North Main Street, Elections Office Room 10 Sylvester, Georgia and at the Governmental building- 204 E Franklin St Sylvester, Ga. The test procedure is open to the public.

The SCOOTERVILLE Volunteer Fire Department VOTING PRECINCT, located at 4413 GA HWY 256 Sumner, Georgia is no longer adequate to provide for COVID distancing, space for the disabled, and the concern for the health and wellbeing of the voters and poll workers. The Scooterville Voting Precinct WILL BE RELOCATED to New Hope Baptist Church at 4454 GA HWY 256 Sumner, Ga.

WHEREAS it being the responsibility of the Worth County Election Superintendent to generate more public interest in voting and to provide for the disabled and regular voters/electors an adequate and convenient place in which to cast their ballots as well as to provide for the COVID healthcare regulations; and

WHEREAS, the foregoing change do not have as its purpose, and will not have the effect of denying or abridging the right to vote on account of race, color, or otherwise, but to the contrary, the change has in its purpose and effect the extension, facilitation, and protection of the right to vote for all. 

THEREFORE, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Effective June 6, 2023 at a regular meeting of the Worth County Board of Elections and Registration, the Board will vote to finalize the above-mentioned change. If passed by unanimous vote the changes will take effective immediately at which time the Worth County Registrar shall give each elector affected written notice of such change at the elector’s last known address. Such notice shall be given to the voters no later than October 6, 2023 that being more than 30 days before the November 7, 2023, General Election.
