Vital Records

Vital records are government issued records that document life events.  Vital records that are kept under governmental authority include, but not limited to, birth certificates, death certificates, and marriage records.

Currently, certified birth certificates can be obtained in any county in the state of Georgia, even if the registrant was born in a different Georgia county.  Georgia has combined all birth records into a statewide database through the State Office of Vital Records.

The State Office of Vital Records is working to combine death certificates, but at this time, older death records may have to be obtained through the county in which the decedent was domiciled.

Copies of marriage records must be obtained in the county in which the couple applied for their marriage license. You can obtain a copy of a Worth County marriage license by visiting https://www.feepayonline.com/certificates/default.aspx?CourtID=NDg=.  Once we receive paid request, the copy will be mailed out in 1-2 business days or they can be picked up at Worth County Probate Court. We currently offer two options to have your documents mailed to you:  FedEx (for an additional fee) or USPS

FedEx:  $12.75  (2 - 3 day delivery with tracking number)

USPS:  Free  (If you choose to have your request mailed by USPS,  tracking is not available and Worth County Probate Court is not responsible should your mail get lost after it leaves our office.)
