Can anyone attend a meeting of the Board of Commissioners?

Yes.  Any meeting where a quorum of the Board of Commissioners is gathered and official business, a policy, or a public matter is discussed or voted upon is open to the public.  

What do I need to do if I want to speak at a Board of Commissioners meeting?

At least three days before the meeting at which you want to speak,  submit the public comment form to the County Clerk.  You may also call and make your request over the phone.  Call 229-776-8213 and ask for the County Clerk.  For a copy of the Public Comment Form, click here:  Public Comment Form
   
From time to time, the Board of Commissioners may schedule a public hearing for the purpose of hearing comments on a specific topic.  It is not necessary to submit a Public Comment Form to speak at any of these public hearings. 

Where can I get a copy of an ordinance?

A complete copy of Worth County's Code of Ordinances can be found in the Law Library and the Board of Commissioners' office located on the 3rd floor of the Courthouse.  You may request a copy of any ordinance by contacting the Records Custodian at 229-776-8200 or making your request in writing and submitting to:
